Hello lovelies,

Welcome to 2026, I took an unintended break this month, but here in Northern Europe Imbolc is coming this weekend and, like the sprouting seedlings, I'm warming up. I hope you've had a chance to rest as needed, and that this year has been gentle on you so far.

Imbolc is a time of light re-emerging, its still cold but the days are noticeably longer and the green shoots are piercing the soil's frosty surface, tenacity breaking through the ice. Life prevails, this turning of the season tells us.

On the other side of the wheel, and thus now in the Southern Hemisphere, is Lammas or Lughnasadh, the "first harvest" of grain and the harvest games which remind us of what we're growing toward. There is a place for waiting out the dark, a place for piercing the cold, and a place for sharing in community.

In astrology this is the sun's time in Aquarius; an air sign who carries water. Perhaps its the time of year but this combination always feels cold to me; the sharpness of the mind cutting through the dark depths of the ocean which hides so many mysteries.

Friends in Australia are facing extreme heat and fires this season, and I wonder how that influences Aquarius' vibe, and how Aquarius could be called upon to temper the heat.

May deep, clear, analytical sight prevail and lubricate the path to growth.

May the movement of the sun through the stars illuminate your ability to know clearly through the storms,

and may the story of Imbolc-Lammas, of life breaking through the harsh cold to feed us in community be a message that hope is rising and life will prevail, even if more frosts (or fires) are yet to come.

Magic This Month... Babalon Circles

This month's live circle will be on

Monday 2nd February

(future circles scheduled the last Monday of each month)

and I'd love to see you there.

Each month we meet on Zoom for a ritual to connect with the goddess Babalon and know her better. Rituals so far have included growing our personal astral temples to Babalon, exploring her symbols including the Cup, the Serpent, and Fire, and creating ritual materials such as anointing oils.

I also share a chapter each month from my forthcoming book "The Goddess Babalon" - an introduction - with space to discuss it in the Discord.
